Garage focus at Nyanza
Hosting a Technical Workshop about drive systems maintenance drew interest from 25 garages around Coventry.
Nyanza Autoparts staged the event at the company’s on-site technical training room in association with OE belt and systems manufacturer Gates. The evening session was a particular success for one lucky technician, John Clarke.
He went back to Centurion Fast Fit with the evening’s major raffle prize – an 80-piece Gates Tool Box.
The theme of the Technical Workshop was Synchronous Belt Drive Systems maintenance (SBDS). It combined installer training with debate about specific technical issues in an informal atmosphere. Gates also runs Technical Workshops about Auxiliary Belt Drive Systems (ABDS).
‘It was a chance for customers to speak directly to an OE and aftermarket manufacturer about SBDS diagnostic problems. It also gave them opportunities to exchange experiences about installation issues relating to particular vehicles with other mechanics,’ says Nyanza director Sasch Raichura.
Established in 1981, Nyanza has grown to become one of the largest independent family-run distributors of motor components in Coventry. The business employs 18 people and runs 6 vans.
Nyanza is a new Gates customer, having recently switched to the Gates brand. The move was successful and Nyanza was soon being rewarded for its sales success:
‘We won the tool box for the best Gates sales performance so it seemed only right to pass the prize on to one of the customers who had helped us to win,’ added Sasch Raichura.
Gates is also launching a nationwide belt kit promotion this month (February 2015).
